January 22nd, 2009 - Chemotherapy Schedule Changes

Effective Monday, January 26th, 2009, chemotherapy and therapeutic infusion appointments lasting less than 2 hours will be scheduled in the afternoons.  This will ensure patients receive as much time as possible with their doctor and the nurse handling their infusion.

January 8th, 2009 - ePrescribing

Effective Monday, January 12th, 2009, Matthews Hematology Oncology Associates will change the way they handle prescriptions. Patients that receive a new prescription or need a prescription refilled will work directly with their physician’s nurse to fill the prescription using ePrescribing. ePrescribing is a physician’s ability to electronically send an accurate, error-free and understandable prescription directly to the patient’s pharmacy. An ePrescription is not written on a traditional prescription pad, but is instead sent like an e-mail to the patient’s preferred pharmacy.  For more information regarding ePrescribing, click here.
